Great Whiskies: Scotch, Whisky, Malts and Whiskey

Ben Nevis Scottish Single Malts

Ben Nevis Distillery is one of the oldest licensed distilleries in Scotland established in 1825 within the Highlands of Scotland and situated at the bottom of Ben Nevis. The distillery has a visitor centre where entrance charges are £4 for adults and only £2 for children. But you can use your adult ticket to buy selected whisky brands and this £4 will be taken from the overall price. The source of the water for all its malts comes from the mountains around the distillery, and as you can imagine with the Scottish weather, there is an endless supply of pure, clean water. The water source itself passes over peat bogs on the way down the mountain. With the ample supply of peat around the distillery, this is used for firing the barley to make it dry for use in producing top quality whiskies. There are six working stills within the distillery.

The distillery location and visitor centre is Ben Nevis Distillery, Loch Bridge, Fort William, PH33 6TJ. If you would like to contact the distillery by phone, the UK number is (0)1397 702476.
