Isle of Jura 15 Year Old Single Malt Whisky is a very fruity and spicy whisky and is wonderful malt. Isle of Jura whiskies are sometime underestimated well you compare then to Islay whiskies, but this should not be the case. This is a well balanced dram and has a dry finish. The water source for this whisky is Loch a Bhaille Mhargaidh (Market Loch) and the water is perfect to make excellent malts with it being a soft peaty water. There is less peat that the normal as the water flows over rocks which takes some of the peat away.

At a price of under £40 at the moments it is an excellent buy and you could do far worse as this Island Malt is great value for your hard earn cash.

The Isle of Jura whiskies distillery is a small, but lovely distillery sitting next to the sea. The distillery was built in 1810 by Laird Archibald Campbell but whisky had been made on the Island as early as 1502. This makes it excellent conditions for producing whisky with the salty air which give Isle of Jura a unique taste. Other whiskies that this distillery produces are Jura 16 Year Old Single Malt Whisky, Isle of Jura 21 Year Old Single Malt Whisky and Isle of Jura 27 Year Old Single Malt Whisky just to name a few. The distillery uses Oloroso sherry casks for its bottling.
