Hirsch Rye Whisky is an 8 Year Old Canadian whisky with a 43% strength. I have always found that there is something special in rye whisky and it is often a favourite with the woman which I cant explain why as it can be a strong tasting and one that is hard to consume at times if not a normal whisky drinker. The taste of this whisky is one of creamy vanilla, caramel, and with a hint of honey.

Rye whisky is rare in Canada now as most of the distilleries produce blended whisky and with the Hirsh Selection range now not in production this rye whisky can be sometime hard to find. So if you do, buy a bottle before it runs out as it one that you should have in your collect of whiskies.

Hirsch was distilled at Michter's Distillery in Schaefferstown, PA, but sadly has now closed. The distillery is more famous for its bourbon and has a fine selection of Bourbons to choose from. One of the most famous is the A.H. Hirsch Reserve Straight Bourbon whisky
