Glen Grand 1959 whisky comes from a long chain of top quality malts for the Glen Grand distillery. There is not much information regarding this 1959 Highland Malt, but there is a selection of others from the same distillery like the 1955, 1956 and the 1960 range. I have never tried this malt, but have been told it is one of the finest Malts that you can consume, but it is very rare now so if you do have a chance to have a dram you must take your chance. I have tasted the Glen Grand 1967 and this is an amazing malt and would be in for a real treat. With your nose you smell vanilla, strawberries, raspberries and kiwi fruit. When adding water this develops a smoky edge with a hint of lemon and the finish is very fruity.

This great Highland Malt is distilled at Glen Grand distillery with the owners of the distillery being Gordon & MacPhail. The distillery is located in the town of Rothes in Speyside and has been producing whisky since 1840 when it officially received its licence and was founding by John and James Grant. News for the world market states that Glen Grant is the second highest selling malt whisky. The distillery is also responsible for selling the first Single Malt whiskies. The water source for this distillery is the The Glen Grant Burn.
