Canadian Club is the only Canadian whisky that is blended before aging in white oak barrels. Canadian Club started distilling in 1854 on the American side of the border in Detroit, but moved to Windsor when strict U.S prohibition laws came into force. At the beginning Canadian Club was named Club whisky as you would normally find it in the strict gentlemen's clubs. Other brands that the distillery produce are Canadian Club Premium (5 Year Old), Canadian Club Reserve, Canadian Club Classic (12 Year Old), Canadian Club 100 Proof (6 Year Old), Canadian Club Sherry Cask (double matured and at least 8 Year Old) and finally Canadian Club Dry.
